Admit it, you've considered it. We've all thought about it before: Can you eat the slice of bread that isn't moldy in a moldy loaf?

As the price of groceries continues to skyrocket, we are all trying our best to stretch out every penny, so throwing away food is extra painful for many families.

But do not try and save a few sandwiches with a loaf of moldy bread.

Experts claim that not only is it kind of nasty, it can actually be incredibly dangerous.

"Bread mold is tricky. If you can see some mold spots, many more mold spores are present and not visible to the naked eye" - Lorene Sauro, nutritionist

Per nutritionist Lorene Sauro, while most people are easily able to handle a small amount of mold, it all depends on the person.

Even if you are cooking the bread, that won't help much — the mycotoxins that mold produces can still be prevalent, even after cutting off the mold and heating the bread.

Now the good news is that cheese is a bit different. As long as it is a hard cheese, you should be fine to chop that icky part off and save the rest. If it is a softer cheese, that is a total loss. Any sort of mold, there is no saving it, toss it all and start over.
