Shaboozey was the first artist to take the stage to receive a trophy at this year's People's Choice County Awards. He was crowned New Artist of 2024.

"I'm so honored and extremely humbled," Shaboozey said as he read an acceptance speech he had prepared. "I never would have thought in a million years that I would be up here at the Grand Ole Opry accepting something like this."

He proceeded to thank several people in the industry, including his label and country radio, before sharing love for those closest to him.

"Thank you to all my friends and family in Nashville for showing up with me," he added.

Shaboozey topped it off with, "And thank you, Beyonce. You're amazing."

Shaboozey's First Country Music Award

The country newcomer burst onto the scene earlier this year with his smash hit, "A Bar Song (Tipsy)." His debut single in the genre also garnered a trophy for Best New Artist Song of 2024 on Thursday night (Sept. 26).

These awards mark the first for him at a country music awards show.

Shaboozey's Nod to Beyonce

Prior to his song blowing up the country music and all-genre charts, Beyonce dropped her own country album, Cowboy Carter. She included Shaboozey on a song called "Sweet Honey Buckin'," which certainly helped him become a more well-known name, both in country music and outside the genre.

Shaboozey received seven total nominations at this year's People's Choice Country Awards, held live at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville. The show is being hosted by Shania Twain and airing on NBC, with streaming available on Peacock.
