Moses Lake is Home to One of the Coolest Bistros that Makes it Worth the Trip
Moses Lake is a neat town that I don't stop in as often as I should. I drive past it all the time and maybe swing by a gas station off the side of the road every once in a while as needed, but it's usually just a landmark on my traveling.
However on my way back from Spokane we decided to swing by to grab something to eat which gave us a reason to actually drive into town.
Moses Lake, like Yakima, you don't see much just off the side of the road. You have those friends who say 'Oh yeah, Yakima! I've driven through that on my way to Seattle' when you have to argue that the 'Yakima' you see from the highway isn't the full version. Sure, the Arboretum is pretty nice to see but the other side is just gas stations and truck stops. Not much. Moses Lake has a few cool things to see from the highway like the new church and a bit of the lake but, really, a lot of Moses Lake is to be found in town. And that's where you'll find Michael's Market & Bistro.
We didn't have that as our destination but we drove into town a bit, then looked for restaurants near our location. Michael's Market & Bistro was one recommended by Google so figured it was good enough for us. I'm glad we went.
There's a full-on local shop inside that has cheeses, a deli case, a bakery case and, on the side, a full service restaurant with drinks, great food and more.
We weren't that hungry but hungry enough to constitute a stop so we just split the steak and mac 'n cheese (I really just wanted the mac and cheese, but the steak was great) and and a drink. On the way out we ended up shopping for several items on the road. A few meat snacks, some local treats, a few baked goods and even unique salt. Yep! They have lots of different types of salt so figured I'd give it a shot. Who knows, maybe these fancy salts will be the one key ingredient on my next dish that has just enough of a chance to keep people guessing what the secret ingredient is.
Great people, fantastic service and this place is exactly a reason to drive into town next time you're in Moses Lake.

To find out more about how has the price of gas changed throughout the years, Stacker ran the numbers on the cost of a gallon of gasoline for each of the last 84 years. Using data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (released in April 2020), we analyzed the average price for a gallon of unleaded regular gasoline from 1976 to 2020 along with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for unleaded regular gasoline from 1937 to 1976, including the absolute and inflation-adjusted prices for each year.

The 2020 County Health Rankings values were calculated using mortality counts from the 2016-2018 National Center for Health Statistics. The U.S. Census 2019 American Community Survey and America's Health Rankings Senior Report 2019 data were also used to provide demographics on the senior population of each state and the state's rank on senior health care, respectively.

Using March 2019 data from the Social Security Administration, Stacker compiled a list of the most popular names in each of the 50 states and Washington D.C., according to their 2018 SSA rankings. The top five boy names and top five girl names are listed for each state, as well as the number of babies born in 2018 with that name.
