New daycare regulations are set to take effect starting in August and it could cause problems for providers even forcing some to close their doors.

The new regulations will require daycare workers to earn 'Early Childhood Education Certificates' approved by the state.

It basically means that childcare providers must receive college credit in addition to their current licenses, and maintain 10 hours a year after that.

The cost for keeping certification can cost as much as an extra $3000 per year for providers.
