Jon Pardi to Help San Francisco 49ers During 2017 NFL Draft
Jon Pardi is ready to trade his microphone for a football — at least for one day, anyway. The "Dirt on My Boots" singer will participate in the 2017 National Football Leage Draft by helping his home team, the San Francisco 49ers, make their team selections on Day 3.
The NFL Draft is divided into three days, with Round 1 taking place Thursday (April 27), Rounds 2 and 3 on Friday (April 28) and concluding on Saturday (April 29) with Rounds 4-7. As a way to make the final batch of selections more engaging, the NFL has called on several stars to participate in the process, ranging from musicians and actors to NFL players. Pardi, a native of Dixon, Calif., which is not far from San Francisco, will assist the 49ers during their round on Saturday at Levi's Stadium.
Country Stars Who Played Football, Too
Other stars set to appear in the draft include Milo Ventimiglia and Mandy Moore of the beloved NBC series This Is Us, helping the Pittsburgh Steelers at Heinz Field, 2 Fast 2 Furious actor Michael Ealy appearing with the Washington Redskins at FedEx Field and Morris Chestnut from Boyz n the Hood assisting in the Philadelphia Eagles draft pick.
Pardi recently dropped a new song to radio, "Heartache on the Dance Floor." It's the third single off his second studio album, California Sunrise and follows two enormously successful singles, "Head Over Boots" and "Dirt on My Boots," both of which topped the country charts. Pardi scored a big win at the 2017 ACM Awards, too — he was named New Male Vocalist of the Year. He's set to perform as an opening act on select dates during Tim McGraw and Faith Hill's massive 2017 Soul2Soul Tour.
