Old Dominion have won Group of the Year at the 2019 ACM Awards! The trophy was handed out ahead of Sunday night's (April 7) big show, during red carpet festivities in Las Vegas, Nev.

Songwriter Shane McAnally, a frequent Old Dominion collaborator, surprised the band on the red carpet to announce their win and present them with their trophies. Old D joked that their trophies had Brothers Osborne's name on them, a reference to a running joke: In news stories, photo galleries and on Twitter, the two bands get mixed up often. Fortunately, both seem to have a good sense of humor about it.

Old Dominion are repeat winners in this ACM category, having taken home the Group of the Year trophy in 2018 as well. The release of their sophomore album, Happy Endings, brought a wave of chart-climbing singles and fan-favorite tunes. They're working on a third album now, and a tour named for their recent single "Make It Sweet" is underway as well.

The 2019 ACM Awards will begin at 8PM ET and be broadcast live on CBS. Old Dominion are scheduled to perform during the show; they'll be singing "Make It Sweet."
