Open Letter to Cold Stone: Please Come Back to Yakima
Dear Cold Stone.
Please return to Yakima.
Sincerely,
literally everyone in Yakima.
Well, that would be nice if it were that easy. Unfortunate for us here in the Palm Springs of Washington, it'll take a bit more to convince most anyone to bring back such a staple location that has been in Yakima twice before. Why didn't it work out either time? We may never know.
I remember my fist Cold Stone experience just over 20 years ago when we had a Cold Stone location by Fred Meyer. It quickly turned into a favorite spot for myself to bring friends during my college years. At the time my favorite was sweet cream-flavored ice cream mixed with gummy bears. This way, the gummy bears would get super cold so they'd be harder to chew. I guess I had far more confidence in my own teeth at the time. I think I liked it because it made my treat last much longer.
Then, it closed. So I moved out of Yakima for 10 years. Not to say I moved away just because Cold Stone closed shop, but that would be hilarious.
Then, when I was away, I learned they opened a second location in Union Gap. When I'd come back to Yakima to visit family my friends and I would often meet at the new location, this time with my young children. We loved it.
Then that location closed. Again, not sure why or why not, it was just closed. I was sad.
There is a Cold Stone in Spokane so last time we were in town we decided to hit it up. I was happy to see so many new flavors available as well as other items on the menu like the ice cream cupcakes and more. Just stopping my again made me miss it that much more. I wish we had a Cold Stone option in Yakima again.
Please make it happen.
