A couple of weeks ago, I commented on a Facebook topic on KIMA-TV's page regarding getting vaccinated for influenza.  I was pretty cavalier, stating that I had NEVER gotten inoculated and have NEVER had the flu, relying only on my body's own natural defenses and immune system to help ward off sickness.

Of course, just days later, I was struck down with some sort of bug that the doctors still can't identify.  I was tested for pneumonia, influenza, pertussis (whooping cough) - even cancer! - all (mercifully) returning negative results from the lab.

God does have a sense of humor, no?  That is why I had to chuckle when I learned the fate of C.N.N. talk show host Piers Morgan.

He went on his show recently to extol the virtues of getting the flu shot.  It was administered by T.V.'s Dr. Oz who CLEARLY states that it is NOT POSSIBLE to get the flu from the flu shot.  Watch here:

Ironically, a few days later while interviewing country music star Dwight Yoakam, Piers admitted that he had taken ill.  To Dwight's credit, when asked what advice a professional singer would give to someone with a sore throat, Dwight replied, "Don't ever take a flu shot again!"

As I can personally attest, karma is sometimes a bitch.
