
Scratch-off Tickets Make Fun Gifts But Know The Rules for WA
It's about that time of year again when you don't know what to get those people in your life who are, you say say, hard to shop for.
There are plenty of easy options. Gift cards to their favorite places or perhaps something personalized.
One popular gift option are scratch tickets, or Scratchers, from the local lottery. Great gifts for those who play, perfect stocking stuffers, and easy to put in a Christmas card.
There is a local lottery, however, that, although they appreciate it when people to purchase Scratchers as gifts, to do so responsibly.

Lottery Tickets are Not for Children
The California Lottery released a statement to the public that, as as great as a gift it would be to send and receive Scratchers, to do so as a responsible gift.

First of all, you must be 18 years old to play so no gifting to people under 18. CA Lottery regularly uses underage decoys to see if stores are selling to minors.
The Lottery's major concern is to get someone hooked at an early age which is an image they don't want.

Research from the National Council on Problem Gambling shows early exposure can lead to gambling problems later in life.
The California Lottery also emphasizes to keep gambling products away from children and support efforts to prevent underage gambling.
