Riley Green is a country newcomer with a long resume and an even longer list of interests. The "I Wish Grandpas Never Died" singer grew up in a blue collar household and applies that work ethic to his songwriting.

He works hard, but he plays pretty hard, too.

"I can honestly say I dated a girl for a little while and if I ever got looking off in a trance or something she'd say, 'You're thinking about turkeys aren't you?'" the 30-year-old Taste of Country RISER admits. "And I was!"

Turkey and duck hunting are his passions, but Green also loves football and picking traditional country music with friends and family back home. Two Georgia-raised singers helped him get from playing bars for tips to headlining clubs, but he'll tell you his fans are mostly responsible for helping him pick the right songs for albums and country radio.

Scroll down to see the full list of trivia and facts you didn't know about Green. The most surprising fact may come first — that big ol' hit song he's being praised for today? Originally the 30-year-old had no intention of recording it.
