Best Spring Break Beaches in WA
Spring Break is often a time to celebrate the end of colder days and the start of a warmer season upon us. To many, I truly believe partially in thanks to Mtv, the beach seems to be the place to be for Spring Break. And, though, most of the time when you think 'beach' you think of Florida or SoCal or Hawaii but our Washington beaches have a lot of charm to them as well. A different style, a different atmosphere, a different attitude, but it's honestly the type of beach I prefer.
Don't expect warm, sunny, 'play in the water' type beaches when you're in Washington. Our beaches are a bit more 'feel the mist on your face' type of weather which is what I'm used to and what I prefer. But to each their own.
Alki Beach, Seattle, WA
If you find yourself in the Seattle area, Alki Beach is a great place to be. There's plenty of sand and sunshine and a lot of great restaurants by the beach. I like how it's still in town so you have water, sand, then a road and the rest of Seattle including shops, dining, and even residential areas
Ocean Shores, WA
Ocean Shores is a favorite by many. It has everything you could possibly need for fun at the beach.
Long Beach, WA
Long Beach has a lot going on for itself as well. Since it's on a peninsula is has more beach for your buck. There's a very cool shop here as well. Frequent visitors can tell you all about Jake the Alligator Man.
Owen Beach at Point Defiance Park, Tacoma, WA
A great place for families and a quick spot if you're already visiting Point Defiance Zoo, check out the beach while you're here as well.
Westport, WA
Westpoint is another popular beach. It may not be as busy as, say, an Ocean Shores, but this beach is the one to go to if you're looking at boating as there's plenty of options. It also has a wonderful light house if that's your thing. I mean, most beaches do, but it seems that this is a little more accessible.
My family and I would go on a family vacation to Grayland often which is near Westpoint and our trips to Westpoint were always a highlight.
