Yakima Valley Pet Rescue and Adoption Center is a nonprofit, no-kill pet rescue organization led by dedicated volunteers. They save homeless and neglected dogs and cats from around the Yakima Valley and beyond, and find them loving, happy homes. Now in its 12th year, YVPR has helped save the lives of more than 10,000 dogs and cats. But the group needs your help.

A donation of nearly $15,000 from Stewart Subaru will go a long way toward helping the Yakima Humane Society feed and care for the cats, dogs and other homeless animals the independent, nonprofit agency tries to rescue. My daughter Shaylee has been wanting a kitty for a long time now. We decided to go to the Humane Society of Central Washington to look at the kitty's. I only wanted to look at the kitty's, but right when we walked through the door there was a cage with white kittens...

The Super Pet Adoption event over the weekend at Petsmart put on by Petsmart Charities and Pawsitive Alliance helped 159 pets find their forever homes. 82 of those adoptions came from the Central Washington Humane Society. There were multiple animal rescue organizations, information and fun for everyone.

The 9th Annual "See Spot Run" 5k walk/run with your dog is set for Sunday, May 1st Race time is 11 am, starting and finishing at the Humane Society located at 2405 W.
