The Yakama Nation begins its commemoration of the Treaty of 1855 with a parade on Friday and a pow wow out in White Swan. Everyone is invited to join the festivities.
The East Valley Community Enhancement Association in conjunction with the city of Moxee is getting in to the Christmas spirit by holding the town's first-ever lighted Christmas parade this weekend.
After a military chopper flyover to get things started, you wouldn't have thought Saturday's (May 20) Selah Community Days parade could go much higher.
But you'd have thought wrong.
Under deep blue skies and just enough breeze to keep everybody comfortable, the Moxee Hop Festival was as good as ever this year -- a grand parade, a 5K run, inflatable rides and slides, an entertainment stage that kept going day and night, food to please any palate and of course, the whole point of the celebration to begin with, beer -- the beverage all those hops help produce...
Yakima's Memorial Day parade is this Saturday (May 28), starting downtown at 10 a.m. We would love to see you to show your support for our fallen men and woman of the military and to those you have loved and lost. Here is the parade route.
