Doing THIS at Target in Yakima Could Get You Banned for Life
As someone who used to work in retail for 3 years, I've always been in awe of Target's deterrents against shoplifters.
I've worked in places where all we had were ourselves to basically customer service the bejesus out of people to make them aware that we know they're there without literally saying, "Thank you for shopping, please don't steal," though we may have the occasional secret shopper during random peak times to keep an extra eye on things.
Target it does it right.
From having security stationed right when you walk in to there being cameras everywhere (both the ones you see and the ones you don't), shoplifting isn't a game of cat and mouse as one may think it is. Target takes it very seriously.
And a new policy in place may put an end to a lot of that.
What is Target's new Policy that could get you banned?
According to PopCrush, Target updated their policy to include a lifetime ban from Target stores if caught.
Lifetime ban. That means forever.
From there, even attempting to shop there on purpose and with integrity, it's too late for you. If you're banned, now you're trespassing and could get arrested being on their property.
I mean, if you're caught shoplifting, chances are good you wouldn't wanna show back up as it is. How shameful would it be knowing they know you've been caught stealing and, chances are good, you could try to do it again.
Reformed or not, if you've done something before, history as proven to yourself that you may do it again.
It's never worth the risk.
