Tie Down What Could Blow Away! It’s a Windy Day
We have a mixed bag of weather in the forecast Tuesday. Clouds this morning and sun in the afternoon. But while the forecast calls for sun it also calls for wind. In fact a wind advisory has been issued. While the wind will be good for power generation in the state it could be a headache for you if you have things that can blow away. The following information is from the National Weather Service.
The wind is supposed to start at about 2:00 pm
URGENT - WEATHER MESSAGE
WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 2 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO 8 PM PDT
THIS EVENING...
* WHAT...Southwest winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 50 mph
expected.
* WHERE...In Washington, Eastern Columbia River Gorge of
Washington, Yakima Valley, Lower Columbia Basin of Washington,
Foothills of the Blue Mountains of Washington and Simcoe
Highlands. In Oregon, Eastern Columbia River Gorge of Oregon,
Lower Columbia Basin of Oregon, Foothills of the Northern Blue
Mountains of Oregon, Foothills of the Southern Blue Mountains
of Oregon and North Central Oregon.
* WHEN...From 2 PM this afternoon to 8 PM PDT this evening.
* IMPACTS...Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects.
Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may
result.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The strongest winds will be on exposed
ridge tops where there is little vegetation, such as the Horse
Heaven Hills south of the Tri-Cities, Athena Ridge, and Rieth
Ridge.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high
profile vehicle. Secure outdoor objects.
