Toppenish Rodeo Returns This Weekend for Its 83rd Year
Don't worry -- this'll only take about eight seconds. Max.
Yep, it's the 83rd annual Toppenish Rodeo, coming this Friday and Saturday (June 30-July 1) at the Toppenish Rodeo Grounds, 600 S. Division St.
More than 150 top competitors from the across the country will be there, scrapping for prizes in all the traditional rodeo events -- including bull and bronc riding, tie-down roping and barrel racing.
Events start with mutton bustin' at 7 both nights -- and the big-time buckin' begins at 7:30.
But that's not all.
Get there early Saturday and you take in a free car and bike show on the grass from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (If you'd like to display your ride, contact kingsrow55@gmail.com.) Stay late either night and you can listen to the band Pony Boys near the new beer garden.
On-site vendors will offer carnival-style eats on the rodeo grounds, so don't bother fixing dinner before you head in.
Here are the ticket prices:
- Adults (13 and old) -- $12 for a one-day pass, $20 for both days.
- Seniors and veterans -- $10 for a one-day pass, $18 for both days.
- Kids (ages 6-12) -- $8 for a one-day pass, $14 for both days.
- Children 5 and younger get in free.
Call (509) 865-5566 for advance tickets or buy them at the gate.
The rodeo is sponsored by Dad’s Family Restaurant and Gold Creek Saloon.
