Try Something New at a Familiar Place? Try the Bacon, Cheddar, Mushroom Crepes
The other day I met up with a friend at a favorite spot in Yakima. My problem is if there are too many things on the menu I wonder about each and everything and, after too long, I just get something I often get like the chicken fried steak or some type of breakfast combo. This time I figured I'd try something new and stick to it. I'm glad I did.
When my friend and I were at Powerhouse Grill, where is a place you honestly can't go wrong with anything on the menu, I opted for the bacon, cheddar and mushroom crepes with a hollandaise sauce.
First of all, if I'm at a restaurant that serves breakfast all day, there's a 99.9% chance I'm ordering something from the breakfast menu. I'm also a big fan of crepes. Though I often order something on the sweeter side like a strawberries and cream or something similar, These sounded like a best of all worlds. I was pretty sure I'd like them. It turns out I loved them.
My first concern was it would be made with strips of bacon which wouldn't be the end of the world however it should have made them a little tough to cut through. To my advantage, the bacon was already prechopped into these delicate crepes. When combined with cheese and mushrooms it turned out to be just fine. And that, by itself, would have been great but the added touch of the hollandaise made it even better.
Next time you find yourself at Powerhouse Grill in Yakima and unsure what to order, opt for these. I loved them.
