Travelers Relieved As TSA PreCheck Resumes At WA Airports

Just a few days ago it was reported that TSA PreCheck and Global Reentry was temporarily put on pause which cause many travelers who rely on these services that they paid for to get into a frenzy.

It's a service that they paid extra for, why can't they use them? It didn't seem fair that they would pay for a service only to be denied at the airport and wait in the longer line and have to remove electronics from their carry-on baggage.

The good news is that it was just that - temporary.

TSA PreCheck Reopened for Sea-Tac, PSC, YKM

Tri-Cities airport PSC just announced their TSA PreCheck has just reopened after a small delay.

SEA (formerly Sea-Tac) Seattle-Tacoma International Airport has also reopened for TSA PreCheck but according to King 5 News, Global Reentry is still put on pause for now.

Why Did TSA PreCheck Stop in WA?

TSA PreCheck and Global Reentry was put on a brief hold for less than a day. According to King 5 News it was because of a partial government shutdown. They said for Seattle's airport they were notified Sunday morning before 6 a.m. and were told the hold had been lifted maybe an hour later.

TSA PreCheck benefits

If you're wondering what's the fuss for TSA PreCheck, well, flying out of Yakima or Pasco, you may not notice a huge difference and both airports are very easy to travel in and out of, but when you get to larger airports like Seattle or where ever your return flight may be from, it can make a huge difference.

Really, the main benefit for me is the shorter lines. On a personal story, they say arrive 2 hours before your flight and I had a flight leaving New Jersey that had a 2.5 hour wait for standard security. Many missed their flight because of it.
