A compromise has been announced at West Valley High School concerning a controversial change in the senior portrait section of the school yearbook. West Valley High School Principal Ben McMurry says all seniors in the yearbook portraits will be allowed to wear what they want but they will all be photographed with the same background. McMurry says all the seniors will also be given some choices on how to pose for the picture.
The pictures will still be provided free of charge. The change means students won't have to wear clothes provided by the school.
The controversy started earlier this year when the school announced it would hire a photographer and provide clothing for students to create equity among students and a better quality of pictures in the yearbook.
