The Super Bowl is on the way, even though the Seahawks (and my Eagles) are out. Even my third favorite team -- the Vikings -- is out. Now what? I love football, so I am going to watch. But who do I root for?The AFC Championship pits the Patriots against the Steelers, while the NFC Championship will be Packers and the Falcons.

The Steelers have reached the playoffs 25 times. The have won their division 20 times and have played in 15 AFC championship games. They've also won six out of eight Super Bowls. That is one fantastic record.

The Patriots have played 11 AFC championship games and won eight of them. They have won four Super Bowls. That is not a bad record, either.

The Packers have 13 NFL championships -- most of any team in league history. Some were played before the NFL changed the name of the NFL championship game to the Super Bowl. After they changed the name, the Packers have played in five Super Bowls. In fact, they appeared in the first two Super Bowls, defeating the Chiefs and the Raiders. In all, the Packers have won four Super Bowls.

The Falcons have only appeared in the Super Bowl one time -- in 1999 -- and they lost to the Broncos.

So there is my answer. Since the teams that I love are no longer in the running, I guess I will root for the underdog. Go, Falcons!

Who are you going to root for? Take the poll and let us know.
