I love chocolate.

I'm not a chocoholic like some. I don't like dense, chocolate cake or when it comes to brownies I can always have one, maybe two, over a period of time.

But chocolate items like truffles, I think they're great.

Could you imagine being a professional chocolate tester? Sounds like the worst job ever, right?

Well, unfortunately for me they weren't looking to hire anyone new so going from the list from 24/7 Wall St. ranked the worst chocolate.

These are the types of chocolate commonly found in most stores.

Not to say that most typical stores wouldn't have great chocolate as well, they do, but sometimes the best chocolate are found at a chocolatier or place specifically made for making quality chocolate.

Maybe you've seen those stores while traveling or in fancy shopping areas. The type of place that sells small chocolate bars for outrageous prices. That's different.

And, as it turns out, the worst chocolate on this list is sold everywhere in Washington State including right here in Yakima.

What is the worst chocolate in the United States?

This list was made of 8 chocolate makers and you see the usual suspects on there. Brands like Palmer who are probably best known for their seasonal chocolate items like for Easter and Christmas.

There are also companies like Hershey's and Nestle. The standard.

I was also surprised to see Lindt on the list as those seem like quality chocolate but, as they pointed out, their chocolate is mostly sugar, not cream. Interesting.

The Worst Chocolate

According to the list, products made by the Mars company ranks in at #1.

These are candy bars like Snickers, Milky Way, Twix, and a lot more.

Probably the kinds of Halloween chocolate you're most likely to get.

What makes these guys the worst? Well, according to 24/7 Wall St. there's a lot of legality behind how the chocolate is sourced. Perhaps the way it is received makes it a hard truth to swallow. You can read more at your leisure.
