What do we want? IHOP!
When to we want it? NOW!

Well, maybe not that extreme but I think it'd be amazing if we had an IHOP back in Yakima.

We had an IHOP for many years. Though in Union Gap it made it a bit of a drive for me back when we had one, but always worth the trip.

Yes, I completely understand we have several other breakfast spots in Yakima and they're all wonderful but there's something fun about IHOP with their pancake selection.

Not just pancakes but they also do crepes and everything else.

I was sad when I learned that it closed back in 2012. This wasn't a local decision as IHOP's corporate were moving away from the A-Frame building to expand and Yakima's IHOP, that was in Yakima for about 40 years, wasn't part of that plan moving forward. The result was about 30 employees learning they weren't going to have a job in about a month from that announcement.

We still have an IHOP in Ellensburg so that's good news for them, but what about Yakima? Well, the old building was turned into Panera Bread which is very welcome, but it's high-time that Yakima gets an IHOP again.

Where to put it? Easy! Rainier Square. That location already has a hotel with another on the way, a few restaurants and so much more to offer, putting in an IHOP would be a no-brainer as it would feature a place for breakfast in that area.

Can we make that happen?

LOOK: Best Beers From Every State

To find the best beer in each state and Washington D.C., Stacker analyzed January 2020 data from BeerAdvocate, a website that gathers user scores for beer in real-time. BeerAdvocate makes its determinations by compiling consumer ratings for all 50 states and Washington D.C. and applying a weighted rank to each. The weighted rank pulls the beer toward the list's average based on the number of ratings it has and aims to allow lesser-known beers to increase in rank. Only beers with at least 10 rankings to be considered; we took it a step further to only include beers with at least 100 user rankings in our gallery. Keep reading to find out what the best beer is in each of the 50 states and Washington D.C.
