Yakima Public Schools Reopening in Stage A — 18 Weeks of Distance Learning
The first day of learning for Yakima Public Schools is August 26 but our children won't be able to attend in person. Not yet, anyways. YSD released their plans set in stages and it starts with the first semester practicing fully-remote, long distance learning with your children's health in mind.
The Yakima School District will be in Stage A of our reopening plan for the first semester of the 2020-21 school year. Stage A is fully remote/distance learning.
Stage A is an upgrade to what our children experienced at the end of the last school year in spring.
Once 18-weeks have passed they will re-evaluate if it is safe to evolve into Stage B. Stage B will include limited school access with families making their own decision if they'd like to keep their children home during that time of distance learning.
