IMPORTANT CHANGES TO THE YAKIMA TACO FEST ARE A-FOOT!

Organizers at the Central Washington Hispanic Chamber of Commerce have decided to make the 2021 Yakima Taco Fest event at Sarg Hubbard Park in Yakima a drive-thru only event.

There was always the possibility that the Yakima Taco Fest would change from a socially distanced outdoor event to one that was drive-thru only. That was included in the fine print when would-be attendees purchased their tickets online.

A WORD FROM THE YAKIMA TACO FEST EVENT ORGANIZERS

Event Chair, Jessica Camacho, says that the volunteers and staff have decided to take extra precautions to make sure their long-awaited event would not end up being one of those "super spreaders" for COVID-19 infections. Special care is being taken to consider the needs and health of Yakima Taco Fest volunteers, food vendors, and attendees, and the decision to switch to a drive-thru only option was not taken lightly.

No doubt, this change will affect the local economy of food truck vendors who had no doubt been looking forward to making a nice profit from their participation in the Yakima Taco Fest. It will also no doubt impact the fundraising efforts of the CWHCC who were utilizing proceeds from the event, which is one of their largest fundraisers. The Yakima Taco Fest helps the nonprofit extend much-needed services and resources to local Central Washington small businesses.

WHAT WILL THIS MEAN FOR YAKIMA TACO FEST VIP TICKET HOLDERS?

What will this change mean for those who bought VIP tickets to the Yakima Taco Fest? They will likely still receive their swag bags, but organizers have yet to reveal how their food and beverages will be rationed for those with VIP and "The Fuego Experience VIP" tickets. Stay tuned for further updates.
