Coronavirus -- COVID-19 -- has you shut down, no work for weeks. Time on your hands? Here's an idea: Go to the librar ... oh wait, no can do.

According to a Library District news release, "After careful consideration, and in light of recommendations by state and federal health officials regarding the COVID-19 outbreak, Yakima Valley Libraries will close all library locations to the public effective Monday, March 16 at 6 p.m. through Friday, April 24".

The library staff will keep working and some may be reassigned to different library branches to help with various projects.

If you have books or other library materials checked out, you won't face any fines or fees for late return.

Yakima Valley Libraries have a lot of inventory online and they're working to add even more to include e-books, e-audiobooks, streaming video and digital magazines. These materials can be found on the library website, here: www.yvl.org/e-materials.
