Jake Owen, ‘The One That Got Away’ – Song Review
It’d be hard to argue Jake Owen‘s sincerity on his new single ‘The One That Got Away.’ By the end of the song, Owen is almost shouting the chorus in anger as if the shadow of the “one that got away” is still looming over his crestfallen heart.
Remember When the ACM Award Looked Like a Bowling Trophy?
The famed ACM award got a redesign before the 2003 show in Las Vegas. Now, artists pick up a silver statuette attached to a black base. If you look down at the trophy, you’ll notice it’s shaped like a cowboy hat. Overall, the award is much heavier than one would imagine. Artists that win two or three certainly will have sore arms after an night of lugging their loot around Sin City.

Blake Shelton Makes Final Cut on ‘The Voice,’ Three Country Singers Sent Home
Blake Shelton sent the most countrified member of his team home during Monday night’s episode of ‘The Voice.’ To be fair, the song Jordan Rager was asked to sing was way out of his comfort zone, but a perfect fit for his Battle Rounds contender Naia Kete. Rager’s growth during the rehearsals was commendable, but ultimately not enough.
Scotty McCreery, ‘Water Tower Town’ – Song Review
Scotty McCreery will perform ‘Water Tower Town’ on ‘American Idol’ Thursday night (March 29), just hours after the track from ‘Clear as Day’ becomes the North Carolina singer’s third single. Thus far, his radio catalog has behaved like Grandma’s famous green bean casserole — great on Sunday, pretty good the day after, but by the third helping you’re ready to try a new flavor.
