It's the time of year when chili just sounds good. And if you're particular about your chili and like to have more than one kind to taste, Owens Cycle has a treat for you: The second annual Chili Cook Off gets underway this Saturday (Dec. 3) at 11 a.m. in the Harley-Davidson dealer's parking lot, 1707 S. First St.
Jason Michael Carroll is one of my favorite country artists. He speaks from his heart and true experiences. That is what makes him so good. Watching Carroll perform on stage makes you feel like you have known him your whole life. You know, that small-town country living that he always talks about.
It is that time of year again when the city of Yakima comes to life. It is full of amazing holiday spirit! And the Larson Building stands in the middle of it all. It is such a great piece of Yakima Valley history and it is always fun to watch them light that building up.
Always an excellent time with the United States Marine Corps! Toys R Us donated a ton of money to go shopping for the USMC's Toys for Tots program! Each one of us took age groups for boys or girls. I got the 3-5 little girls and 7-9 boys! The boys got a lot of "Star Wars" stuff. Then, we decided that those little girls needed Barbies and fun little jellies to dress up in!
The YWCA is such a great place. They help woman and children get to a place in life where they can succeed on their own. During this time, they need a little help. That is where the YWCA comes in and so do we. During the holiday season, money is spares. We need to help the YWCA get toys for the kids that need to be at the YWCA. The Harley Owners Group has put together an amazing motorcycle run for the occasion.
I am very proud to be a United States Citizen. I am not always happy about who runs for our Commander and Chief but, I do respect the seat. We have entrusted people in our government to help us make these decisions. Donald Trump is now our President Of The United States Of America. That is that.
Sunday's (Nov. 6) bike run that kicked off the valley's Toys for Tots 2016 campaign at the Salvation Army was a complete success. We had so many bikes there! People even came in vehicles to make sure that the United States Marine Corps got toys for the kids.
If you have the urge to steal something, at least steal something that you know how to drive. I know how to drive a dump truck, mostly, so if one were available to me, then maybe I could. But some guy in Seattle didn't have a clue how to drive dump truck he took.
What a fantastic day it was for the United States Marine Corps, Toys R Us and all the kiddos who stopped by to check out the military vehicles and equipment. People came in droves to donate new, unwrapped toys as Toys For Tots kicked off this year's campaign.
