Big Lots Closures Disrupt Local Shopping

In todays economic climate, so many businesses are focusing their attention on what matters the most. These are the good people who visit their stores and... naw, I'm just kidding. It's money. It's always about money.

Big Lots is no exception from locations that may be their doors closing.

On a personal note, I love Big Lots. I never know what I'm looking for when I go but I always find neat stuff from mattress covers to food items I can't find anywhere else like giant bags of cereal marshmallows.

That's right, just the marshmallows. It's amazing.

I don't go to Big Lots very often but, when I do, I'm never alone as I see other people there shopping as well. That's why news of Big Lots closing some stores was surprising to me as I didn't think it'd be for lack of business.

Well, what's happening is Big Lots is closing several stores but in places that don't make sense for them anymore. According to Business Insider, Big Lots is moving away from bigger cities in favor for smaller towns that appreciates a store like Big Lots even more. That's good news for us!

Is Big Lots Closing in Yakima?

They listed some of the stores that were closing. Fortunately, Yakima is not on the list so we get to enjoy our access to giant bags of cereal marshmallows for another day.

There were a few stores in California that did make the list, however. These locations include

Citrus Heights, CA on Auburn Blvd.
Dublin, CA on Amador Valley Blvd.
Ridgecrest, CA on Tustin Ave.

Keeping supporting Big Lots when you can as that's one article I'm not prepared to write.

To find out more about how has the price of gas changed throughout the years, Stacker ran the numbers on the cost of a gallon of gasoline for each of the last 84 years. Using data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (released in April 2020), we analyzed the average price for a gallon of unleaded regular gasoline from 1976 to 2020 along with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for unleaded regular gasoline from 1937 to 1976, including the absolute and inflation-adjusted prices for each year.
