Carrie Underwood has just released the video for her latest single, "Smoke Break," and now she's taking fans behind the scenes of the video shoot.

Underwood nearly broke the internet when some clips emerged of her wearing short shorts while filming the clip in the California desert, but the "Smoke Break" video has a lot more going for it than just her famously shapely legs. It's really Underwood's first blue collar anthem, and as she tells E!, she wanted to underscore that with the new video.

"'Smoke Break' is all about the overworked, stressed-out person," she says. She plays a character whose truck breaks down while driving through the desert, "and then you have all these gorgeous, strong women: a horse trainer, a truck driver, we have a waitress ... it just tells a story," she adds. "These are everyday jobs, and we need a break."

Underwood worked once again with Randee St. Nicholas, who directed her "Blown Away" video in 2012. She also co-wrote the song with Chris DeStefano and Hillary Lindsey, with whom she's written several of her previous hits. "The three of us together just seem to be a really great team," Underwood says.

The song is the first single from her upcoming album, Storyteller, which is set to drop on Oct. 23. It's her first full studio collection of new songs since Blown Away in 2012.

"I feel like a lot of the songs that I wrote and gravitated to ended up being more traditional and 'twangy' than anything I have ever done before," she says. "I just went with it! I love the story telling aspect of country music ... it's one of the reasons I always wanted to be a part of it."
