Cassadee Pope has already seen widespread success with her hit single 'Wasting All These Tears.' She was the first female artist to have a debut single go platinum since Taylor Swift and she won the fan-voted Breakthrough Video of the Year award at the CMT Music Awards. While the stunning star may have wasted tears, she's certainly not about to waste any time.

Pope recently told Taste of Country about her most recent star encounter (Martina McBride), the best advice she's gotten lately and the tricky transition that comes in moving from a first single to a second.

"I think coming off a first single that hit Top 10 and went platinum, you want to meet those goals and you want to surpass them, so I find a little bit of pressure doing that," she says.

But the Season 3 winner of NBC's 'The Voice' says she also has more self-assurance this time around. "I also feel more confident because I know everybody now, and in country radio I'm seeing people for the third or fourth time so it feels more like I'm belonging and I know everybody and that feels comfortable."

Pope's newest single, 'I Wish I Could Break Your Heart,' was released in March. She's stayed busy since, somehow finding time to give back by participating in events like the Outnumber Hunger Live! concert she and several other Big Machine Label Group artists participated in last April. Outnumber Hunger is a collaboration between General Mills, Big Machine Label Group and Feeding America that supports local food banks.

Look for Pope on road with Tim McGraw for his Sundown Heaven Town Tour this summer. Pope says that McGraw has offered some great nuggets of wisdom for her burgeoning career.

"Tim just basically told me, 'I know some shows are going to be pretty empty because you're the opener, but just know that, those people, you can win them over. You go out there, you give your all, and they could be your fans at the end of the night.' And that meant a lot to me."

Pope is definitely thankful for the great advice as she transitions into her new single. And if hits are any indication, she may not be playing to empty venues for long.
