Chris Janson has made an impression with the important message in his new single "Drunk Girl," and he spread the wealth nationally with a moving performance of the song on Megan Kelly Today on Friday (Jan. 5).

With just his voice, a piano and the powerful words, Janson accentuated the song's purity with his simple setup. "Take a drunk girl home / Let her sleep all alone / Leave her keys on the counter, your number by the phone," he sings, keeping the audience engaged with beautiful piano and a passionate delivery.

"Drunk Girl" shows off a softer, more emotional side to the star in comparison to his breakthrough party hit "Buy Me a Boat." This one is written as a father who wants to impart that the "difference between a boy and a man" is not taking advantage of a woman under the influence.

Janson penned the song with Tom Douglas and Sccoter Carusoe, explaining how the song's message was inspired by their roles as fathers and thinking about how they want young men to respect their daughters. "It's certainly a compelling track in the regard that it was written from a father's perspective. If my daughter were ever in that situation, the song is how I hope a young man would treat my daughter," he tells Taste of Country.

"Drunk Girl" is included on the singer's 2017 album Everybody, which debuted at No. 7 on Billboard's Top Country Albums chart. The album's lead single, "Fix a Drink," became Janson's second No. 1 single on the Country Aircheck/Mediabase chart. The country star has a few more dates on his Everybody Tour before wrapping it up at the Ryman Auditorium on Feb. 5. He'll then hit the road with Cole Swindell on the 2018 Reason to Drink Tour.
