There must be something special in the air in Nashville in 2017. The year has seen an explosion of country stars getting engaged and married.

Sam Hunt stunned fans when he announced his engagement on Jan. 2, just one day after dropping a surprise new single. Hunt married Hannah Lee Fowler, who inspired many of the songs on his debut album, Montevallo, in a very private ceremony in Cedartown, Ga., on April 15.

One of the members of A Thousand Horses is also married now, and both Kacey Musgraves and Kelsea Ballerini tied the knot in 2017 after getting engaged around the holidays last year. Both married fellow singer-songwriters, but many of the country artists who got married or engaged in 2017 hooked up with people who are not directly involved in the music business.

Frankie Ballard's wedding seemed to come from out of nowhere. The singer and guitarist and his fiancee, Christina Murphy, got married on March 12 in Texas, and it came as a surprise to fans because the couple had never announced that they were engaged.
