Team Blake Shelton's Craig Wayne Boyd was back at it again on Monday night (Nov. 24) on 'The Voice.' The country singer put his unique spin on Johnny Cash's 'I Walk the Line.'

Singer-songwriter Colbie Caillat mentored the hopeful alongside his coach. “She puts a lot of heart and soul in [her music]," Boyd said of Caillat. "She’s phenomenal.”

Boyd chose to sing 'I Walk the Line,' but made it his own, turning it into a ballad. The song is extra special to the contestant, who revealed he hasn't always "walked the line." But when his son was born, that all changed.

When he performed the cover for Caillat and Shelton before the live show, Shelton was more than impressed.

“I don’t wear panties and I was about to throw my panties on the stage," the country singer told Boyd, smiling. Caillat also seemed pleased, but did have a few words of advice for the country crooner, asking him to get out of his comfort zone.

“The only difference in Craig and me is I got a lucky break along the way," Shelton said before his team member took the live stage.

When it was game time, Boyd hit the mic with his guitar, singing alongside a violin. Compared to the original, his 'Walk the Line' version was very different, and per Caillat's advice, he changed up the ending, carrying the tune a little longer.

During the performance, Boyd wore an important piece of jewelry as somewhat of a tribute, also giving one to Shelton. The necklaces are a replica of one the late Wayne Mills wore, given to Boyd by Mills' wife. Mills was shot and killed in a Nashville bar in 2013. He was a mutual friend of Boyd and Shelton's.

“That goes without saying, that was magic," Shelton said after Boyd's moving performance. "It was magic. I just want to say to you, from one country singer to another, I’ve had struggles, not half as many as you’ve had along the way -- freaking congratulations!"
