As future physicians, we strive for healthy communities. Our Mission:

The run was started in 2011 by some of the Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences medical students to try to engage the community in healthier activities since the Yakima county health statistics in the areas of obesity, hypertension, diabetes and other indicators lag behind the rest of the state and the country. It has effectively become the way the students try to thank the greater Yakima area by providing a family friendly, healthy and safe activity while raising funds to donate to local organizations that support the health and wellbeing of the Yakima area.

When the run originated it had a 5k course throughout Terrace Heights, during the 2012-2013 school year we made the big move to have the event run through downtown where we hope to continue to have the run/walk. We have been fortunate enough to be able to add additional pieces into the event over the years with a health fair featuring student booths and local health organizations to provide information to the participants and our visitors. We also are hoping to continue to grow the after-race activities and food options to allow families to interact enjoy the afternoon.
