When they open the gates at 11 a.m., the first thing on our mind is ... no! We're not eating like that again today. But we DO intend to sample some craft beers.

It's Central Washington University Day at the fair, so maybe we'll celebrate by stopping by the Ag Building at 1 p.m. for CWU's craft beer demonstration. (And for those of us who'd rather consume the beer than craft it, the State Fair Pub's open at noon.)

It's looking like a great day to peruse the science, technology, plant, crafts and arts in the Washington Building, the Pioneer Building, the Ag Building and the Modern Living Building.

Here's some more of what's on our list:

  • We have to see what "wire trees" are, and Pam Drake and Cassidy Catron are on at 11 a.m. in the Modern Living Building to explain.
  • Over at the Durand Arena, we can see any size horse we want. At 2 p.m., it's the mini and pony classes, and at 4:30 it's draft, mules and minis. (Can't wait to see how they measure up, eh?)
  • When we're feeling a little more limber, we'll take in Street Beat -- they had the crowd rolling at Saturday's Sunfair Parade. Showtimes are 2 p.m., 5:30 and 8:30 on the Pacific Power Community Stage.
  • Then we've gotta clean up and get over to the Budweiser Stage by 6 for today's headliner: the Kumba Kings!
