Keith Urban has pulled out of a scheduled show at the Washington State Fair after the unexpected death of wife Nicole Kidman's father, Dr. Antony Kidman.

The Seattle Times reports that Urban's Sept. 13 show has been canceled. The fair website announced they'll have more details on ticket refunds later, adding:

The Washington State Fair has received notification from Keith Urban’s management that his concert date on Saturday, Sept. 13 will be canceled due to the untimely death of his father-in-law. The Fair sends its condolences to both Keith Urban and his wife, Nicole Kidman.

The Fair is in contact with Urban’s management. They appreciate the patience of ticket holders at this time. Urban’s management will be determining the best course of action for ticket holders, and the Washington State Fair will make another announcement in several hours.

According to several sources, Urban was scheduled to appear at a benefit for the Ventura County Food Bank in Thousand Oaks, Calif on Thursday night, but immediately turned around and jumped on a plane to be with his wife in Nashville when he heard the tragic news. Kenny Loggins is reported to have filled in for Urban at the event, which also included appearances by Bruce Jenner and Wayne Gretzky.

Details surrounding Dr. Kidman’s death are still being sorted out, with several sources reporting it came as result of a fall, while others claim he had a heart attack in the restaurant of a Singapore hotel. Dr. Kidman was visiting Nicole’s younger sister, Antonia. Time Magazine says that the actress and her father were close -- she often brought him and her mother Janelle onto the red carpet with her. The couple celebrated their 50th anniversary in January. Janelle was reportedly not in Singapore with her husband at the time of his death.

According to his official website, Urban doesn't have another concert until Sept. 27. His Raise 'Em Up Tour wrapped this month.
