Earlier this week, we reported that Lady Antebellum will be putting their talent and fame to good use by performing a special concert on May 16 for the students at Henryville High School, which was completely ravaged when a tornado ripped through the town recently.

The trio will give a private 45-minute set for the juniors and seniors at the KFC YUM! Center as part of the school’s prom night, which will be followed by a full-fledged post-party concert that will be open to the general public in order to help raise funds to rebuild the town.

“The whole community — especially the students — is excited about Lady Antebellum coming and performing for Henryville,” says Monty, Schneider, the Superintendent for the West Clark community schools. “They missed so much with the school being destroyed that things like this help them feel whole again. They will be talking about the tornadoes for the rest of their lives, but this event will give them something positive to reflect on about that time. It’s going to be a special moment for the entire community.”

Lady Antebellum songstress Hillary Scott also had a thing or two to say about the band’s mission, stressing that helping the town is of utmost importance to them. “Helping rebuild this community is our biggest priority right now,” she said. “We were so moved by the stories from Henryville High School, but also from the students at their rival schools who raised their hands and said they wanted to help. There has been so much national media attention and so many sponsors and volunteers are stepping forward to help. It’s going to be

an amazing day!”

Lipton Team has also come on board to help with the event in the spirit of their “Drink Positive” and “Live Positive” message, a campaign that Lady A already supports. All proceeds raised from the concert portion of Rebuilding Henryville will remain local through the New Hope/Indiana Bankers Association for the benefit of the disaster relief fund. Fans who are unable to attend Rebuilding Henryville can still get involved by making donations in any amount here.
