Miranda Lambert isn't limiting her screen time to country music videos; the singer is collaborating on 'Something in the Water,' a female-led comedy script penned with two great talents -- country music video director Trey Fanjoy and screenwriter Cindy McCreery.

The project, which Fanjoy describes as 'Bridesmaids' meets 'Steel Magnolias,' is a multi-generational piece set in the heartland. That theme sounds right up Lambert's alley, as she's a true country girl at heart. It's about five women challenging their men in a bass fishing competition, and if all goes as planned, Lambert will be taking on one of the roles.

We only wish Blake Shelton would be one of the men challenged in the fishing contest!

If Fanjoy's name sounds familiar, it's because the director has worked with Lambert on numerous projects before. She directed the star's first-ever music video, and has worked on others including 'Kerosene,' 'The House That Build Me,' 'Fastest Girl In Town,' 'Over You,' 'Mama's Broken Heart,' and her recent feisty hit with Carrie Underwood, 'Somethin' Bad.' The winning duo has also nabbed several awards together, including Female Video of the Year in June for 'Automatic.'

Lambert has proven her acting skills before in her award-winning music videos and a guest spot on NBC's 'Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.' Plus she's a riot to watch onstage. If she keeps doing' what she's doing', her status could go from A-list country star to A-level actress.
