Miranda Lambert Brings ‘Over You’ to ‘Good Morning America’

Miranda Lambert was all over the daytime talk show circuit yesterday (July 25). Before co-hosting to ‘The View,’ where she dished about the simple life she lives with hubby Blake Shelton and performed with her girls Pistol Annies, Lambert kicked off the day over at ‘Good Morning America.’

The normally fiery blonde hitmaker took the stage at the ‘GMA’ studio wearing a sparkly skirt and a denim jacket with her signature country-style boots. Backed by a full band, she launched into ‘Over You,’ the award-winning single she co-wrote with Blake Shelton about the untimely death of his late brother, Richie.

Lambert made it through the emotional tune without any tears — unlike when she sings ‘The House That Built Me’ — and the crowd hooted and hollered before the band struck their last chord.

Just a few weeks ago, in an interview with People Country, Lambert talked about the inspiration for the song. “[The hook of the song] came from something Blake’s dad said,” she explained. “He said, ‘You don’t ever get over it, you just get used to it.’ The hurt passes, but you don’t ever get over it.”

While we’re sure that those who were close to Richie haven’t fully gotten over his passing, the award-winning country star has managed to immortalize his legacy in a beautiful song, which is something we imagine he would appreciate.
