The final 'Monsters University' trailer is here and it gives us our best look yet at the latest film from Pixar. Although we're still not completely sold on this one (more on that in a bit), a Pixar release is generally a cause for celebration and animation fans will find much to appreciate here.

A prequel to 'Monsters Inc.,' 'Monsters University' follows Mike (Billy Crystal) and Sully (John Goodman) back in their college days, long before they became best buddies and co-workers. The set-up is pretty typical of a college movie: Mike is the brainy, nerdy underdog who has to struggle every day and Sully is the popular jock who breezes by thanks to his father, a member of the faculty. Naturally, the two of them ultimately team up, join a frat filled with lovable losers and engage in all kinds of 'Revenge of the Nerds'-style activities.

As is the norm with Pixar, the film looks incredible, with animation that puts every other studio out there to shame. However, we're still unsure of why this film exists. In 'Monsters Inc.,' these characters learned horrible truths about their world before changing it forever, so why would we be interested in what their school days were like? Why should we be interested in watching these guys go to college to join an organization that we already know will soon be revealed as corrupt?

Quibbles aside, the film looks fun, even if it lacks the scope or something like 'Up' or 'Wall-E.' We'll know for sure when it arrives in theaters on June 21.
