It's fun to see what food exists from other countries. Our grocery stores often have part of an aisle set aside for foods from Mexico or Japan and China. Fred Meyer even has part of an aisle for food items from the UK which is pretty neat. But what if the roles were reversed? If you find yourself in the Seattle area they have this grocery store called Uwajimaya which is exactly that. Full of food from China, Japan, Taiwan, Korea and more. This includes produce, frozen foods, hot deli foods and a lot more.

I particularly loved the candy and snack aisles full of treats that you may not see in most US stores. Sure, they have favorites like Pocky but this store has, like, 50 varieties.

The ramen aisle has a lot more than just top ramen. Some come at a premium, to. None of this 10 cents each nonsense, some of these dried noodle packs cost a dollar or more. You know it's quality. I've grabbed some in the past and can concure that it is better. Not sure if it's 'one dollar' better, but fun to try.

I'm not much for sake but the bottles are so beautiful! Fun to see as well.

Here's a bunch of photos I took last time I was there. This is from the Renton location but they also have a larger store in Seattle in the International District as well as one in Bellevue.
