  • After a year, Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley and Minnesota Senator Amy Klobuchar have again asked the Justice Department and Federal Trade Commission to study possible anti-competitive practices regarding certain oil companies.

Grassley and Klobuchar want the DOJ and the FTC to review the Renewable Fuels Association’s comprehensive analysis on how some oil companies are blocking the sale of renewable fuels, investigate the claims and reply with an evaluation of the agencies conclusions regarding possible anti-competitive behavior along with any proposed solutions they will take to resolve the issue.

  • Tree fruit industry victims of the wildfires in Washington’s Okanogan County are getting some help via a tax deductible charity that is being set up.

The Community Foundation of North Central Washington Brewster/Pateros Tree Fruit Fire Victims Fund will channel help directly to those working in the tree fruit industry that have lost their homes and suffered great loss.
