The city of Yakima only provides a single can for all of our trash -- unlike the city of Seattle, where you get cans for regular garbage, recycled items (cans, bottles, cardboard etc.) and another can for yard clippings and grass. So if you want to be a good citizen and conservationist in Yakima, you can go downtown and make a couple of bucks on your bottles and cans BUT if you just want to dispose of the stuff, do your part to keep the earth green and help worthy causes then take your recycling items to the recycling center behind Wesley United Methodist Church at 49th and Chestnut in the West Valley.

They take your typical bottles and cans and well as tin and cardboard. I don't believe they take glass, though.
