Carrie Underwood performed the final date of her Storyteller Tour on Monday night (Nov. 28), and the singer shared her appreciation for her fans — and openers the Swon Brothers and Easton Corbin — on social media.
Country fans don’t expect to see two costumed cartoon animals ambling through the concourse of a music festival, and they certainly don’t expect to learn the Swon Brothers are inside the horse and bear head. That took a backseat to the romantic moment that was about to happen in front of thousands at the 2016 Taste of Country Music Festival.
On the inaugural date of her Storyteller Tour, Carrie Underwood and her tourmates Easton Corbin and the Swon Brothers treated the audience to a cover that brought them back a few years: the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band’s “Fishin’ in the Dark.”
The Swon Brothers released their new Timeless EP on Friday. Fans knew it was coming, but no release date was ever set for their first independent project, making the news something of a shock for those who've followed them since 2013.
Carrie Underwood's 2016 arena tour will bring her new music to fans in a brand new way. The Storyteller Tour — Stories in the Round will be the singer's first tour "in the round," meaning the stage will sit in the center of the arena and fans will surround her.
