Toby Keith is celebrating the 25th anniversary of his very first hit, and as a fitting celebration announced that he'll be embarking on the Should've Been a Cowboy Tour XXV and out on the road throughout 2018.

"Should've Been a Cowboy" was the first single from Keith's debut album, and was released on Feb. 12, 1993. It eventually earned the distinction of becoming the most-played country song of the decade, and earned Keith a spot in the Songwriters' Hall of Fame in 2015.

Keith would go on to name the single as his most important hit. Prior to taking the stage at the 2015 Taste of Country Music Festival, Keith told Taste of Country that "Should've Been a Cowboy" stood out and built a foundation for the direction of his career.

“That song had to go stand on its own,” Keith says. "It busted through." It did, indeed, leading to a series of glowing accolades including two quadruple-platinum albums and more than 20 No. 1 singles.

Keith's Should've Been a Cowboy Tour XXV, presented by Ford F-Series, will kick off in April and travel throughout North America.
