5 Free Places to Dip Your Feet in Water in Yakima
As the summer sun starts teasing us leading into the hottest days of the year, just something as simple as sticking your feet in water can feel pretty good. It's especially welcoming if you like getting your feet wet without having to get your hair wet or worry about swimming or anything like that.
Just a simple dip of the foot, playfully kicking water or even swishing it around in a kind of zen-like ambience being outside and all that. If that sounds fun for you and even your kids here are a few spots in the Yakima Valley that you can dip your feet in water without having to pay for it.
Yakima River
Not only is the Yakima River a great spot for fishing, but its constantly flowing water makes it great to cool off as well. Yakima River has always been a popular spot in our area and for all the right reasons. I mean, best of all, if you're just looking to dip your feet in the water, you can do that free of charge.
Naches River
Another river that has a lot of easy to access shallow spots depending on where you want to get to it. There are even spots where you can just barely submerge your feet if you don't mind just kinda standing there.
Lake Aspen
Though some may recommend against it, if it's just your feet you should be fine. I've seen people swim and snorkel and all that. I'm not brave enough to go all the way in this lake but putting your feet in, I'd be okay with that.
Wide Hollow Creek
Wide Hollow Creek is that little creek right behind Randall Park. I wouldn't recommend using the duck pond at Randall, but this creek is perfect for something like this. And not just Randall but Wide Hollow Creek stretches a long ways through town with plenty of access points.
Miller Park
I know this is more of a water park, but your feet will still get wet. It counts! Great place to get other parents together and watch your kids play, too.
