Ellensburg May Be Home to the Best Root Beer of All Time
As true as this statement seems to be, I do like root beer. It's not something I order all the time. In fact, it's something I rarely order or opt for given there are bound to be other options. I do like a root beer float in the summer, but just standard root beer from a can or bottle, if I'm getting something anyways, I'm probably getting something else.
Craft root beer, however, is another story.
Many breweries (not all) also brew their own root beer along with their other beer varieties. Perhaps it's done in the same style or same fashion, but with root beer instead.
It's a bit of a rarity to see it on the menu, but when I do see it I'll probably order it just to check it out.
So is the case with this root beer I found at Ellensburg Pasta Co.
Looking at this photo, I'm not sure what I was trying to prove as it looks like it could be anything in that glass. I'm here to tell you, what was in this glass was magical.
We found ourselves in Ellensburg for a couple of hours so we decided to eat at Ellensburg Pasta Co.
It's a traditional Italian-style restaurant with spaghetti, lasagna, and a lot more on the menu. It's a very good place.
Looking at the drinks selection I noticed they had craft root beer as an option. I went for it and I'm glad I did.
It's hard to put into words on what makes it special compared to other root beer you can find at any store.
There are a couple different version of root beer from one with more of a 'spice' (spice may not be the right word) to ones that are more creamy (creamy also may not be the right word). I prefer the root beer a bit on the creamier side and this was exactly that. I thought it was fantastic and I'll get it again the next time I visit.
