If you've been to estate sales in Yakima, no doubt you've seen people who collect Coca-cola memorabilia or M&Ms-themed items. There are those who collect baseball cards or s
tamps and coins. I personally know several who collect old video games and toys.
If there's an item out there, one can collected.
But how about bread clips? Sure! There is an entire fanbase to collecting bread clips.
What caught me on to this was this video on TikTok.
As you can clearly see, a very passionate bread clip collector.
Collecting bread clips seems to come with its own language on how to describe each one. I love stuff like that.
Best part of this is that it can be relatively inexpensive to start collecting these. I mean, they come free with every loaf of bread you buy.
What do Bread Clips Have to Do with Yakima?
Another great part of collecting bread clips is the local ties to Yakima.
If you didn't know, the bread clip or Kwik Lok was invented and manufactured right here in Yakima.
So maybe, just maybe, in starting a bread clip collection you'd also be supporting the local economy in some way or another.
