Wait! Don’t Throw Away those Boxes. Recycle Cardboard in Yakima
With all the gift opening happening here in the next few days, no doubt you'll have plenty of cardboard boxes left over, laying around.
Well, they're just taking up too much room so your first reaction is to toss them just so you don't see them. Out of sight, out of mind, I don't blame you.
However, we do have some quick and easy cardboard recycling areas right here in Yakima and, best of all, they're open to all without the need to talk to anyone to just drop off your stuff.
You take your own folded, broken down cardboard boxes and drop them off at the Wesley church on 48th and Chestnut. Behind the church, between the church and the apple orchard, are these large bins for cardboard and paper.
That way you're not just throwing them away, creating more of a mess in your own garbage and you're helping save the planet or something so these don't end up in a landfill when you could have just dropped these off.
Something to consider next time you have boxes. Not just during Christmas but any time of year, really.

To find out more about how has the price of gas changed throughout the years, Stacker ran the numbers on the cost of a gallon of gasoline for each of the last 84 years. Using data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (released in April 2020), we analyzed the average price for a gallon of unleaded regular gasoline from 1976 to 2020 along with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for unleaded regular gasoline from 1937 to 1976, including the absolute and inflation-adjusted prices for each year.

Every beach town has its share of pluses and minuses, which got us thinking about what makes a beach town the best one to live in. To find out, Stacker consulted data from WalletHub, released June 17, 2020, that compares U.S. beach towns. Ratings are based on six categories: affordability, weather, safety, economy, education and health, and quality of life. The cities ranged in population from 10,000 to 150,000, but they had to have at least one local beach listed on TripAdvisor. Read the full methodology here. From those rankings, we selected the top 50. Readers who live in California and Florida will be unsurprised to learn that many of towns featured here are in one of those two states.

The 2020 County Health Rankings values were calculated using mortality counts from the 2016-2018 National Center for Health Statistics. The U.S. Census 2019 American Community Survey and America's Health Rankings Senior Report 2019 data were also used to provide demographics on the senior population of each state and the state's rank on senior health care, respectively.

The top five boy names and top five girl names are listed for each state, as well as the number of babies born in 2018 with that name. Historically common names like Michael only made the top five in three states, while the less common name Harper ranks in the top five for 22 states.
