CRC Rodeo at the Yakima Valley SunDome Was a Blast

Columbia River Circuit Rodeo was this weekend at the SunDome in Yakima and Russell Cardoza, rode away with $8,544 in cash money. He won for tie-down roping, team roping and steer roping. Not a bad weekend for the cowboy from Terrebonne, Ore., who won 10 all-around titles last year. Here are the official winners from the CRC Rodeo, which wraps up the circuit and sets the stage for the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas this December.

The total payoff for the event was $173,752 and there was fun had by all who showed up at the SunDome. My wife and I went to dinner at Bob's Burgers next to Target and ran into every cowboy and cowgirl refueling before the rodeo took place. Yakima's economy saw a small bump for the two-day event, and I hope Rowdy Barry and the gang bring the rodeo back to Yakima next year as they try and grow attendance.

We also got to see a bunch of rodeo-goers on Friday night, along with a few cute kids all duded up in hats and boots. A lot of fun for sure.
